About CF Energy
CF Energy Research-Consulting-Operation GmbH was founded in 2016 as UG by Christoph v. Friedeburg to bring together insights from academic research, fact-based consulting and hands-on experiences.
Dr. Christoph v. Friedeburg is a physicist. After studying in Heidelberg and London, and completing his doctorate and postdoctoral studies, he worked from 2004 internationally and in management positions for scientific publishers in the acquisition of research books. After parental leave, he was a research fellow at the Worldwatch Institute in Washington, D.C. from 2014 to 2016. Since then, CF Energy has been active for the Energy Technology Program of the Institution of Engineering and Technology www.theiet.org, for ScienceOpen.com, and writes for the Climate Change Performance Index of Germanwatch.org and the Aviva Business Index. Since 2022, Christoph/CF Energy is operating PV systems across Germany using various business models.
Christoph is a Sustainability Policy Expert at the IET, a member of the DGS Photovoltaics Committee, and a member of BürgerEnergie Berlin. He has, among others, volunteered on the board of a condominium´s owners' association.
CF Energy combines research, consulting, and hands-on operation. Research requires operational experience. Consulting requires insights from operations and research. Research and consulting must lead to implementation and operation. A sustainable and secure energy system requires this triad. CF Energy offers it.
Research
International research is driving the energy transition forward – with increasingly efficient solar cells, wind turbines, battery storage, and electronic components. Through its work with the IET, CF Energy connects with scientists worldwide and, together with industry experts, helps publish and disseminate in-depth expertise on energy technology. The IET is a non-profit professional society that offers high-profile lectures and courses and advises policymakers. ScienceOpen is a platform that offers publishers and scientists hosting and marketing for specialist publications.
